Most users reported that its frame is super strong and the components are definitely entry level. The Diamondback Response Sport seems to be an excellent mountain bike and has most of the components needed to withstand the abuse on off-road trails.

The disk brakes are great and will give you no problems. It works fine and shifts well. It also comes with metal D-back pedals and not the resin pedals some people have relied on before. This Diamondback Response is a very good value in a hardtail mountain bike as you are getting a relatively high-end frame design with mid-range components. The modified top tube design is built with more strength borrowed from higher end Diamondback models and similar to some specialized bikes.

However one customer complained that although the front forks do hold up, it isn’t tough enough to withstand the abuse of the jumps so the spinner edge forks need upgrading. The seat post is okay but unfortunately the seat isn’t clamped on tight. Also, the Hayes brake instructions could have been better.

Diamondback Response Sport Mountain Bike got a high average rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars from its users. Of all the brands of bicycles out there, the Diamondback Response is by far the best in its class and price range. It is not the best bike in the world but the money you will spend for the best bike will be nowhere close to what you pay for this one. After doing some physical comparisons of other bikes, it becomes clear that the build quality on the Diamondback mountain bike is superior especially the welding quality.
